The Pioneer group includes some 40 educators, artists and social activists who plan to relocate to Givat Olga in 2006. About half of the group are Education majors studying in the “Incubator for Social and Educational Entrepreneurship”, a program within the Kibbutzim Seminar College of Education that is run by the Institute for Democratic Education. These are undergraduate students studying towards a B.Ed. with a focus in Humanities or Environmental studies. They are 25-35 years old with a background in education, training towards a professional life focused on social and educational enterprises. The second half of the group is made up of persons who view the Givat Olga initiative as a unique opportunity to realize social change. They come from a variety of professions and backgrounds in education, social action and the arts.
